BIOGRAPHY:
The Ohlson Family Roadshow is an American Jazz band based out of New Orleans, Louisiana. With origins in New York State, the band is led by Kyle Ohlson and has strong roots in the folk musics of the United States. Mr. Ohlson has himself made appearances at The Buskers World Cup in South Korea, The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, the National Jug Band Jubilee, as well as the renowned French Quarter Festival in New Orleans. In spring of 2024, The Ohlson Family Roadshow had the honor of performing at The Northwest Folklife Festival in Seattle, Washington for the Swing Dance Hall, coinciding with the release of the self-titled recording “The Ohlson Family Roadshow”. With significant experience in street performing (busking), the sound of the band is a unique blend of Traditional Jazz styles and early American blues & folk. Outside of his upbringing in the United States, Mr. Ohlson’s time living in Asia and the Caribbean has had a significant impact on the music of the band. Summer 2025 will be The Ohlson Family Roadshow’s first official European Tour.
